Why regular AC inspections are crucial for homes in Dubai

In Dubai, your AC rarely gets a break. Long summers, fine dust and humid air make it run almost all the time. That is why regular checks are so important. They help stop breakdowns and keep your electricity bills under control.

During an AC inspection, a trained technician checks the main parts of your system, such as the filters, coils, drain pipe, gas level and wiring.

Why do AC systems in Dubai homes need regular inspections?

In many countries, people only use their AC for a few months a year. In Dubai, most homes use it for most of the year. According to the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), air conditioning uses about 60% of all the power consumed, and this rises in summer when ACs run day and night.

During an inspection, technicians look for worn parts, loose wires and low gas levels before they cause a major breakdown. ENERGY STAR notes that dirty coils and loose electrical connections can both shorten the life of your system. Fixing small problems early helps extend AC lifespan and saves you from buying a new unit too soon.

What does a professional AC inspection check?

Think of an inspection as a health check for your AC. A good inspection covers these 8 checks:

1. Air filters: how dirty they are and whether air can pass through easily
2. Coils: dust and dirt on the indoor and outdoor coils
3. Drain pipe and tray: blockages, standing water and leaks
4. Gas level: signs of a leak or low refrigerant
5. Wiring: loose or burnt connections
6. Fan motors: strange noises, shaking or weak airflow
7. Thermostat: correct temperature readings and settings
8. Ducts and vents: dust, leaks and mold around the grilles

Between visits, check your filters every 2 to 4 weeks in summer and after every dust storm. Get more checks if you have pets, allergies at home or an AC older than 10 years.
